An important aspect of any tourism activity is the role of tour operators and travel agents who put travel together. A tour operator is one who compiles the various aspects of a holiday, including air travel, surface transportation, hotel accommodation etc. into a package that is retailed by travel agents.
The fancy advertisements and brochures announcing a week holiday in Greece or two nights and three days in Seychelles is the handiwork of the tour operator. Because of the volume of business that he brings, the tour operator gets discounts from various sources like the airlines, hotel etc. and therefore, is able to promote an affordable package. The tour operator then becomes the wholesaler who sells the tour packages through retailers called travel agents. The travel agents have moved beyond just displaying tour packages of tour operators to the public. They are active in making local tour programs themselves and also arrange for bookings on behalf of the customer at hotels, airlines, surface transport. Travel agent business is easy to establish, therefore we find an abundance of individual entrepreneurs all over a city and country. The important aspect of travel agency business is to be as close to the public as possible, Every area now has its own neighbourhood travel agents who brings the whole plethora of travel available at the doorstep of the people thereby, making travel attractive and easy. Travel agents get their revenue from commissions from the tour operators, hotels, surface transporters and airlines. They are vital to the various components of tourism as they are in touch with the actual buying.

Travel operators, as the people in travel agencies, have the main job to manage such kinds of holiday into a package of tour. They also engage with some companies such as airlines or other transportation and hotels to be their cooperation. They promote a package of tour and arrange for booking on behalf of customer at hotels or airlines and other transportation. From that kind of cooperation, they have benefits each other. Not only travel agencies who get benefits in form of discount for booking airlines and hotels, but also the airlines or hotels itself get benefits from their customers.

Travel operator (people who work for travel agency) who compiles the various aspect of a holiday, such as transportation (airplane, bus etc), hotel accommodation and the others, into tourism package that is sell by travel agents. Besides that travel operator can gets discount from various sources like hotel, airplanes etc, because travel operator brings customers to them. In the other hands, travel agencies give benefits by helping the customer to get their holiday easily, by manage they tour such as booking on behalf of the customer at hotels, airline etc. In short travel agencies give many benefits to various sources, and also customer.
